Year 4 learned to give an ‘on-screen’ robot specific instructions that takes them from A to B and experiment with variables to control models. As part of the session they learned to:
- programme a glowing snail to show a flash of light - programme a cooling fan to turn at different speeds - programme a moving satellite to turn for a set length of time - programme a spy robot to detect motion The children had a great time experimenting with their robots and creating scripts to programme them to complete different tasks.

Children in Year 4 identified some technologies where bullying may take place. They also discussed some of the ways people can be bullied through a range of media e.g. - Image - Video - Text - Chat As a class we discussed why it is important to think carefully about how content you post might affect others, their feelings and how others feel about them. Children then went on to create their own play-scripts in groups about online bullying and performed these in front of their class. |
