The children in foundation 1 have been using the interactive whiteboard to listen to our favourite songs. The children love choosing songs to listen and dance to and this is a brilliant opportunity to discuss internet safety- we talk about having an adult present when using sites like YouTube, we talk about what we can do if something pops up when we are watching videos and how we must never click on a video without asking an adult.

Learning about festivals and celebrations using technology:Children in foundation 1 have been learning about different types of festivals and celebrations. Teachers have enhanced the continuous provision to include different activities that include the use of information technology.
The children had the chance to create their own firework art in many different ways when learning about bonfire night. The children could use the interactive whiteboard to create their own firework pictures. The children were able to explore different colours and styles of painting as well a being able to use an age appropriate computer program. The children's work was then printed and put into their individual learning journeys. The children also enjoyed watching firework displays from all over the world on videos found on the internet. During Diwali the children were able to extend their knowledge of Mehndi patterns by creating their own designs using the interactive whiteboard. The children also enjoyed investigating battery operated tealights when learning about the festival of light.
